A sealed-bid marketplace for home improvement, built in Vista, California.
Getting home improvement quotes is broken. Homeowners call five contractors, two call back, and the one who shows up charges whatever they think the homeowner will pay. Contractors waste hours on free estimates that go nowhere, and pay-per-lead sites sell the same lead to multiple bidders.
Sealed bidding fixes this. Each contractor prices the job independently from the homeowner's photos and scope, based on real costs and margin. No one can see or undercut another's bid. The homeowner sees every bid at the reveal and chooses based on price, credentials, and scope. Only then does a contractor the homeowner chose come out for a walkthrough to confirm the price.
BidTorch started as a permit-aware estimating tool for contractors. When we saw how much time both sides waste in the quoting process, we built the marketplace around the sealed-bid model. The result is fair pricing for homeowners and real leads for contractors.
Sealed bids, visible credentials, and documented scope. Both sides see the same information before committing.
Competitive pressure drives fair pricing. Contractors compete on merit and cost, not on who underbids last.
Permit-aware pricing, margin-first estimating, and structured scope reduce the surprises that kill projects.
Built for North County San Diego. We know the jurisdictions, the trades, and the permit landscape here.
Whether you are a homeowner looking for fair pricing or a contractor looking for real leads, BidTorch is built for you.
